WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?  As our new SLA Editorial Director, you will play a key role in shaping our overall strategy in refining existing VHL products and processes and then driving the development of new products and programs for our K12 and C&YA segments.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Oversee, manage and actively contribute to the full editorial development process, overall strategy and pub planning of SLA programs and corresponding teacher support materials
Contribute to and provide critical evaluation of the technology development plans and business needs
Manage, train and coach a team on SLA specific best practices, products and market needs
Collaborate with other leaders to establish effective and efficient processes, guidelines and workflows

YOU MUST HAVE (MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

Bachelor’s degree minimum required
7+ years of experience as an Editor, Managing Editor or similar role with responsibility for building and conceptualizing Spanish Language Arts educational products and program
5+ years of experience of managing people, teams and/or freelancers
Full proficiency of Spanish language and grammar
Experience creating digital educational products and knowledge of the K12/young adult market
A willingness to travel as required

IDEAL IF YOU HAVE or ARE (PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

MATESOL Certification
Familiarity with VHL products or similar
Project Management experience

LOCATION

Remote or Hybrid: This role can either be fully remote or Hybrid (Boston, MA office location). Ideal candidate will reside within close proximity to our Boston office location. If fully remote, candidate will be expected to travel to our Boston, MA office on an as needed basis. Candidates must meet this requirement in order to be considered.
